WP Pro brake pads replacement procedures.
1. Ensure the car is parked on flat surface that can safely support the weight of the car on jack stands.
2. Remove the wheels according to factory suggested procedures.
3. Remove the pad retainer by unscrewing the retainer bolts with according sized hex keys.
4. Remove the brake pads by pulling the pads out of the calipers away from the rotor.
5. You will be able to see the exposed piston bodies, DO NOT push the piston bodies in, as now is a good time to clean the pistons bodies as there may be dust deposit around the piston bodies, if the pistons are retracted without cleaning, it may cause pistons to be stuck in the future.
6. Use brake cleaner solution to clean the pistons body thoroughly with a tooth brush, please do not re-use the tooth brush for oral cleaning after.
7. After cleaning the pistons thoroughly, it is now a good time to clean the caliper body with the same method, it is important to keep the caliper assembly clean to prevent corrosion, all WP Pro calipers are made with 5000 tons cold forged T6061 alloy, however, without proper care, it still may corrode under winter conditions.
8. After all the pistons bodies are cleaned and the calipers bodies as well, use the old brake pads to gently pry the pistons back into the calipers.
9. Before installing the brake pads, ensure the backing plates have sufficient space between the plates and the caliper body, apply sufficient amount anti-squeal lubricant on the backing plates, DO NOT apply excessive amount of lubricant.
10. Re-install the pad retainers, torque the bolts to 20Nm.
NEW BRAKE PADS MUST BE BEDDED IN.
